i was born in winter
i was born under falling snow
on a day to remember
for all the wrong reasons
the nurse said i'm sorry
there's nothing i can do
cos the stars are aligning
it's the worst fucking timing
looking back now
it's the fires i forgot to light
that burn the brightest
i was conceived in silence
on a long dark drizzly day
in a state of confusion
the radio was dead
they had to make a decision
i was sold to the circus
for a couple of dancing bears
and if you can believe it
i was scared at the beginning
they said we'll make you famous
just sign on the dotted line
take your time
soon the world was besotted
overwhelmed by dazzling displays
of historical splendour
i was feeling much younger
and if you could have seen me
at the top of my tumbling game
well then you would believe me
i was somebody back then, i swear
you've got to believe me
like a meteoric light
i'm falling
like tectonic plates in the night
i just keep crawling
but i'm still performing
