there's a voice in my head that comes and goes
something about a conscience
i just tune it out
and listen to the radio
there's a song in the air that no one knows
something about resistance
i hear it at night
as i sweat into the sofa
there's a thorn in my side i thought i'd lost
it's coming back to haunt me
i could pull it out
and have nothing left inside of me
i've got a head packed full of ideas
but i don't know which ones to follow
so they empty out
like the sweat that soaks my pillow
cos ideas can melt
like the smiles that slide
from the faces of the children
as they realise
there's really nothing left for them
but no one can say the war is lost
when the losers keep on fighting
just not tonight
i've got far too much anxiety
